I don’t think I’ve ever thought of Tyler Perry as anything other than ‘Medea’ or that really successful director/actor/screenwriter who produces just about everything you see on TBS.
However, Perry looks quite impressive in the first trailer for “Alex Cross,” released today. Perry plays detective Alex Cross, originally portrayed by Morgan Freeman in “Kiss the Girls” and “Along Came a Spider.”
In this film, based off of James Patterson’s novel, “Cross,” Alex Cross finds himself in a cat-and-mouse game with a serial killer, played by Matthew Fox.
Based off of the trailer, I think that Tyler Perry pulls off the “Tough guy, bad a**, extremely intelligent detective” that James Patterson goes for in his novels. I also think Matthew Fox, surprisingly enough, pulls off the creepy serial killer as well.
Take a look for yourself… I for one will most likely go see this movie in theaters when it’s released October 19th.
