The new ‘Dark Knight Rises’ trailer was released yesterday and it further proves that Christopher Nolan is quite the genius.
With each new trailer that is released we see just a little bit more of what we can expect on July 20th when the third installment of Nolan’s Batman series released in theaters. It’s already expected to make more than $450 million in the box office this summer. How much of that will it make in the opening weekend remains to be seen.
“The Dark Knight” made more the $155 million in it’s opening weekend in 2008 and has made more than $1 billion worldwide. Some might argue that the passing of the late Heath Ledger contributed to the opening weekend sales and overall performance “The Dark Knight” saw in the box office. I for one believe that, while yes I’m sure some people made more of an effort to go see his last, and in my opinion his best, performance, to say it was all because of that takes away from the amazing job Nolan did with the film. Not to mention the rest of the incredible cast.
While there is no question that the “Dark Knight Rises” will be entertaining and visually amazing, the question becomes will it live up to all the hype?
I’m not sure if it will or not however, I do know that at 12:01am on Friday July 20th I will be at the theaters along with all the other movie loving freaks.
